Tartan Tunic

‘Tis the season for plaid, so get ready for the next 30 days!  This Stewart tartan tunic was love at first sight.  I love the velvet trimmed details, and I think it looks so perfect with tights/leggings and knee high boots.  This outfit would definitely be in my work wear rotation if COVID wasn’t happening right now in the world.  I was reluctant to relinquish my wardrobe to scrubs, but the last few weeks have been rough with increasing numbers.  Therefore, I am living my best holiday plaid life on the blog this year and dreaming of a more sane…

Getting in the Holiday Spirit

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is almost here!  What a wild ride of a year.  I’m definitely looking forward to this holiday, as it’s quite possibly the last holiday I’ll be celebrating this year.  Hospitalizations are creeping up in New Jersey, and there are no guarantees that elective surgeries will continue if COVID hospitalizations implode.  There is a strong possibility I will get re-deployed to another part of the hospital, possibly to work with COVID patients.  My schedule may become erratic, and we certainly don’t know how many months of trouble lie ahead.  In the meantime, the only things getting me…

Vampire Facial Review: PRP Facial

The PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Facial, also known as the Vampire Facial, was an overnight sensation when Kim Kardashian West posted a selfie during the process in 2013.  I’ve always been intrigued with this treatment, partly because I’m a science nerd with an interest in cosmetic dermatology.  The PRP Facial, when performed in a series of treatments, has been clinically shown to help stimulate collagen and reduce complexion issues, such as melasma, acne, and acne scarring.  It’s always been on my treatment bucket list, so when Nu Image MedSpa in Paramus, NJ reached out to me for a complimentary treatment,…

Dudley Stephens Review — Styling the Park Slope

Finally!!  My long-promised review of my absolute favorite winter-must have: Dudley Stephens Turtlenecks! When I first started noticing the brand a few years ago they looked comfy and cozy, but I didn’t quite understand the hype. After seeing some of my favorite bloggers (Kelly and Carly) RAVE about them, I began my slippery slope (see what I did there!) of Park Slope collecting.  Although they’re on the pricier side, these turtlenecks are AMAZING!  I can’t begin to tell you how many compliments I get when wearing one.  The fit, the collar, the quality, the sustainability — I could just go…

Plaid Blazer Inspiration

Fall is here again, and I’m more motivated than ever to break out my autumn ensembles.  This plaid blazer is a fall staple, and it can be dressed up or down to fit your occasion.  I paired it here with dark brown leather leggings and suede ankle boots, but it would look just as cute with skinny jeans.  I never miss a chance to break out this statement Ralph Lauren concho belt that I scored as an eBay find.  It came brand new with tags!  You can also search for some inspiration pieces on Etsy.  It’s the perfect layering piece…
