Velvet is having a serious moment right now, and I couldn’t be happier! The fall trend is back this year, and I’ve already stocked my closet with provisions. I love that it has such a regal, refined, and sultry vibe. I own a few black staples, but I have been dipping my toe into a few bright color pieces to add to my collection. A blazer is a great way to wear velvet. This jacket comes in 5 drool worthy colors — the red and the pink options are giving me life!
Because velvet is such a rich fabric, I like to wear velvet it in two ways. The first way is to style it with another rich fabric, and leather leggings do the trick. Good leather pants are a great investment piece. I promise you that you’ll have them forever if you care for them correctly. I recommend purchasing your regular size to one size smaller, as they do tend to stretch out a bit.
Another way to wear velvet is to juxtapose the look with a rugged denim. Ripped, distressed, raw — the edgier, the better! I styled this blazer with a black velvet camisole for an enhanced effect, but a silk top would look great too.
Velvet blazer in cabernet, but I also love rose and zinnia! (fit is TTS, wearing a size 6), also available here (P.S. if your size and color preference is not available, check back frequently for restocks!) This tie sleeve velvet blazer is also amazing for $99! // Velvet camisole // Leather leggings (took my normal size 4), also available here — and I love this popular vegan option! // Cluster earrings (this color is sold out for now, but I love the other two colors!) // Celine sunglasses // Gucci metallic gold clutch (old) but I love this luxe velvet one and this gold knot classic clutch // Rose gold cap toe pumps (J.Crew, old) but I love these rose gold metallic pumps (only $89!) and these ones are only $20!
What a stunning color and I love how you styled this blazer. The fit looks great. Thanks for sharing. I will definitely stalk the site for a pop-back.
Thanks, Mary! You’re always so sweet :)
