I have no shame in my game; I’m a self-proclaimed lipstick junkie. I love love love trying out new lipsticks, glosses, balms, stains — you name it. They’re just my favorite beauty product, and the first thing I reach for in my purse to reapply. Nothing makes me feel more put together than applying my favorite product — instant glamification!
Needless to say, I was over the moon when my friends at Influenster sent over the newest Burberry lip craze for me to try out. The Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet line incorporates the effects of a soft-matte lipstick with a lasting, velvety finish. They have a lightweight whipped texture that covers the lip flawlessly and beautifully. The light airy whipped texture makes these super comfortable to wear. You get the full effect of a matte lipstick without the drying effects!
Burberry Liquid Lip Velvets are formulated without parabens and sulfates and also free of controversial lanolin. The colors are deeply saturated, last remarkably well, and don’t slide or bleed. One of the issues I face with matte lipsticks is the drying, cakey nature of the product. I was so impressed with the Liquid Lip Velvets because the product blends flawlessly into my lips for almost an airbrushed effect. This product is truly unique for that effect alone.
There are 14 shades total, and I was sent Fawn 05 and Bright Plum 49 to review. I also received the Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen and Lip Definer in Bright Plum. Fawn is a warm nude with a cream finish. Bright Plum is a deep, reddish plum with subtle, cool undertones and a cream finish.
I am particularly impressed with the Fresh Glow Highlighting Luminous Pen. This is a beautiful champagne-toned highlighting pen, which I use to illuminate under the arch of my brows, along the bridge of my nose, and on the Cupid’s bow. I’ve also used this on the inside corners of my eyes for an added glow.
All in all, the Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet is an excellent matte lip product and one worth investing in. I love this product so much, that I’ve already scooped up a couple of more shades in Primrose 21 and Fawn Rose 09 for spring!
