Meet Lexie

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen more than a few pictures of my “fur child” Lexie.  She’s an eight year old apricot cockapoo that I got when I graduated college in 2006.  I wanted a dog for as long as I could remember, and I even contemplated getting one junior year of college when some of my guy friends expertly smuggled dogs into their college dorm room — how that got past the RAs, I have no idea!  Growing up, my family always owned black Labradors, and while I love big dogs, I secretly wanted a small one after I fell in love with Jessica Simpson’s maltipoo, Daisy, on Newlyweds.  It was just the cutest ball of fur!

Flash forward to the week after college graduation — I saw an ad in the newspaper for cockapoo puppies.  After discussing it with my parents, they agreed that it would be a perfect time to get a dog, because I would be home for the summer studying for nursing boards and applying for jobs.  I had time to properly train a dog.  I’m glad I waited until after college to get a dog, because puppy training is a lot of work!

Lexie is a smart, loving, and obedient dog.  She loves clothes, going for long walks, and eating Greenies.  Check out my fur-child on Instagram, and stay tuned for her Halloween costume!
